MVP provides you with a choice of physicians and providers within the region. Currently we offer an HMO plan and coverage is available to employees after 90 days of full time employment. Employees can choose to cover themselves or can add their child(ren) onto the plan. Cost varies depending on participation in our wellness plan. Cost can be as little as $17.82 bi-weekly for an individual policy!
We offer a preventive and restorative dental program through Guardian. This plan provides and in network and out of network option. Employees can chose to cover themselves, spouses (who have no access to dental insurance) or their children. Cost caries depending on participation in our wellness plan. Cost can be as little as $.72 bi-weekly for an individual policy!
The Arc of Dutchess recognizes the need for time away from work and considers this an important element in maintaining your physical and emotional well- being. Upon hire all FT employees being accruing paid time off (PTO) and will accumulate 30 days by the end of each year. For those employees who have been with the organization for five years or more this will increase to 35 days per year. This PTO can be used for vacation, sick or holiday time. For those employees who were not able to use all their time by the end of the year, don’t worry because it will be rolled over to the following year.
The Arc of Dutchess believes that a healthier workforce is a happier workforce. We have opportunities throughout the year to participate in various wellness activities. While not mandatory, these activities may help reduce your insurance costs. All employees are encouraged to participate and special accommodations can be made to so everyone can achieve the same level!

All full-time employees are eligible for $25,000 worth of life insurance upon completion of 90 days of employment. For those employees who wish to have more coverage, there is an option to purchase supplemental life insurance for themselves, their spouse and/or their children.
For those times when you are out of work due to a medical reason whether planned or unplanned NYS provides employees with weekly disability benefits. These benefits cover 50% of your salary up to a maximum weekly benefit of $170.
For those who wish to have extra coverage, there is an option to purchase supplemental short term disability or long term disability. Costs vary by age and income.
You never know when an accident may happen to you or a family member which is why we offer Aflac accident insurance. Some people prefer to be prepared for the worst and hope for the best!
While we hope you or a loved one never needs this type of insurance, we do realize the devastating impact this has on many. As a result, we want to provide this as an option for those to have the peace of mind should they find themselves with a cancer diagnosis.
Dependent Care Account
For those working parents who have dependents in daycare we offer a dependent care account to help pay for these expenses while saving a little taxes along the way!
Health Care Flexible Spending Account
For those employees who anticipate having medical expenses that will not be covered by their medical insurance, there is an option to open a health care flexible spending account which will allow you to take pre-tax dollars and pay for these expenses.
The Arc of Dutchess encourages all employees to prepare for their retirement years by contributing to a tax deferred annuity. Employees are encouraged to contribute as little or as much as they can every pay period. While we realize this may be a confusing and overwhelming process to many we would be happy to walk you through the process so you can make the right decision for you and your family.
Regardless of whether you choose to participate in the tax deferred annuity, the Arc has a pension for eligible FT and PT employees after one year of service.
