Annual Clinic Garden Plant Sale
For the third year in a row the Clinic at The Arc of Dutchess has hosted a plant sale to make money to buy more outdoor plants for our therapy garden. Michelle Dancey, Rehab Counselor, works together with Anna Frankel, Clinic Director, and a few of the people she supports on her Rehab Counseling caseload to gather a variety of containers, buy plants and then pot them to sell. The garden is used during the nice weather for a lot of therapeutic purposes including job exploration, strength and balance exercises, stress reduction, grief counseling, and others.
A few years ago Lowe’s donated the materials and labor to really enhance the space and they continue to give us discounts on plants and flowers so we can maintain the project. Thank you, Lowe’s!
This year the plant sale made approximately $ 200.00; much of which will go to repair the damage to the flower beds and picnic table caused by the snow plow this past winter. Donations to help with the repair would be most appreciated. Please contact Evelyn Flavin at EFlavin@arcdutchess.org or 845-635-8084 ext. 100
