COVID-19 Visitor Policy

UPDATED: March 16, 2020

Dear Family Members, Friends, and Supporters of The Arc of Dutchess,

We know that you may be concerned about the spread of COVID-19 (the new coronavirus) and how it may impact us here at The Arc of Dutchess. Ensuring the people we support are safe and healthy is our greatest concern.  We do not currently have any confirmed cases of COVID-19 at the Chapter. To help reduce the transmission of communicable diseases in our programs, we are implementing recommendations from The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Office for Persons with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), and Dutchess County Government. However, we need your help to support this goal.

In order to make sure that the people we support and our dedicated staff remain safe and protected from exposure, we are prohibiting visitation at all Arc of Dutchess sites, including our residences and administrative sites, until further notice. We are investigating options, including skype, to ensure that the people we support maintain connected with loved ones during these unprecedented times. We ask for your cooperation and understanding in making sure that we thoughtfully and strategically do our part in helping spread the coronavirus throughout the County and maintain that no one in our programs is affected.

We remain committed to ensuring that the people we support and our staff remain safe and healthy.

Please do not hesitate to reach out should you have any questions.

Sincerely,
