COVID-19 Visitor Policy

UPDATED: April 16, 2020

Dear Family Members, Friends, Supporters, and Staff of The Arc of Dutchess,

We know that you are concerned about the spread of COVID-19 (the new coronavirus) and how it may impact us here at The Arc of Dutchess. Ensuring the people we support are safe and healthy is our greatest concern.  We do not currently have any confirmed cases of COVID-19 among the individuals we support here at the Chapter as of April 16, 2020. To help reduce the transmission of communicable diseases in our programs, we implemented recommendations from The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Office for Persons with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), and Dutchess County Government. However, we need your help to support this goal.

In order to make sure that the people we support and our dedicated staff remain safe and protected from exposure, we continue to prohibit visitation at all Arc of Dutchess sites, including our residences and administrative sites, until further notice. We ask for your cooperation and understanding in making sure that we thoughtfully and strategically do our part in helping to prevent the spread of the coronavirus throughout the County and maintain that no one in our programs is affected.

We would also like to remind staff that only employees assigned to work at a particular location are permitted to enter that site. All other agency employees are considered visitors and cannot enter for any reason.

We remain committed to ensuring that the people we support and our staff remain safe and healthy.

Please do not hesitate to reach out should you have any questions.

Sincerely,
